How do you tell if my dermal is infected?
See your piercer if you experience any of the following signs of infection or rejection:
- severe pain.
- severe swelling.
- skin that’s hot to the touch.
- yellow or green discharge.
- foul odor.
- rash.
How do you get rid of an infected dermal piercing?

- Unscrew the visible part of the jewelry piece.
- Dislodge the anchor by massaging the skin around it.

Can I put Neosporin on dermal?
After your treatment, it is very important for you to refrain from touching the treated area for 6 hours following treatment. You want to keep this area clean and free of germs to prevent infection at the injection sites. You may apply Neosporin or antibiotic ointment to the treated area with clean cotton swabs.

Do not use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. (Both slow the healing of pierced area by drying and killing new healthy cells.) Do not use bacitracin or other ointments. (Ointments attempt to heal the skin & may slow oxygen transport to the tissue).
