How long can you stay in Camp 4?
There is a 30-night camping limit within Yosemite National Park in a calendar year; however, May 1–September 15, the camping limit in Yosemite is 14 nights, and only seven of those nights can be in Yosemite Valley or Wawona….Camping Limit.

Can you park Camp 4?
Parking is available adjacent to the campground (it’s a very short walk to the campsites). A parking permit is required from spring through fall. You will receive a free parking permit upon registering.
How does the Camp 4 lottery work?
Visitors interested in staying at Camp 4 will enter a daily lottery managed by www.recreation.gov. The lottery opens at 12:01 am pacific time the day before your intended arrival date. The lottery is open until 4:00 pm pacific time. The lottery automatically matches applicants with the number of open camping spaces.
Is Camp 4 in the death zone?
Camp IV, also known as the South Col (“Col” is a word for saddle, or pass) is the last major camp before climbers make their summit push. Located at 26,000 ft (7925 m) it is the first night most climbers spend in the Death Zone. From Camp IV, climbers hike to The Balcony, at 27,700 ft (8440 m).
Does Camp 4 have showers?
You may not sleep in any type of vehicle in the Camp 4 parking lot, including vans. Each site has picnic tables, food storage lockers and fire rings that are shared by all occupants of that site. Restrooms, showers and drinking water are located in the center of the campground.
