Due to the number of expected deferment re-registrations from 2020 and 2021, the Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) will be rolling out the 47th Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) Weekend Events registration in stages.
Is the 2021 Marine Corps Marathon virtual?
Virtual Registration Back by popular demand, a limited number of virtual entries will open simultaneously with the live and in-person registration. Participants will have from October 1 to November 10 to complete their distance. A virtual finish will not count toward MCM Runners Club or the Semper Fidelis Challenge.

The course is challenging, but not difficult and you can see a lot of DC, even parts of town I’ve never been to, and this was my second marathon there in the last 2 years. I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to go see the Smithsonian this time, but there is plenty to do around the National Harbor.

Registration opens on January 19 for this 11.03 mile run through Prince William Forest Park. Runners who receive Access Granted will be emailed a MCM registration link following the completion of the Marine Corps 17.75K and verification of results, and will have from March 26 to March 30 at noon EST to register.

The first opportunity to be #VirtuallyUnstoppable will be with the Marine Corps 17.75K. Virtual registration for the 17.75K will open February 9 at 10 a.m. EST, and be $65 for domestic and $95 for international. Please note that virtual finishers will not receive Access Granted into the 47th MCM in October.

What is the time limit for the Marine Corps Marathon?
Marine Corps Marathon – 14 min per mile and must make gauntlets. MCM50K – 12.5 minute per mile through mile 12.25 and then 14 minutes per mile for remainder of distance. MCM10K – 20 min per mile. Historic Half – 17:30 min per mile.
